Ok... its all done... all the bushings replaced... engine timed and chokes fixed (the op had the cable hooked up in the wrong places)... all the shift linkage reworked (holes welded and redrilled)... its ready to go back in the garage for a month, then a bit of body work to do... then I can at least drive it a bit before painting....

Torsion bar bushings arrived..2 weeks by airmail from the UK (glad it wasn't a medical emergency)... Should be done the mechanicals end of next week... then patch up a few holes and it will at least be safetied .... Have change colours.... Grampian Grey...an MGBGT colour from '66-'67. The 6/90's came in three shades of grey, this one should look like one of them anyway????

Well, all the upper bushings are installed... waiting for the Torsion bar bushings to arrive, then the rest will be finished. My mechanic spent a day redoing all the 'joints' in the shift linkage and it is now 'stiff'... can't believe the difference. Talked to the bodyman who has a shop in the same complex and he is going to do the metal work as soon as the mechanicals are done. He thought he would have no problem making new inner and outer sills by hand???? Am thinking I might change my mind and choose something in a 'Grey' rather then the cream? Anyway, paint won't happen for a year or so...be good enough (and expensive enough) to get the metal work done.

Well... between the Australian Post and the Canadian, the bushings managed to get here today!!! I had given up on them and put the car away for the winter... On the way out to the garage, I did open it up a bit on a back concession road...Hey...thats quite an engine... pulled easily up to 75 mph and seemed to have tons more... of course will feel safer when the bushings are changed!

Gordon - as well as I can tell from the photo, I'd go with the Creme de la Creme - warmer, whatever, certainly the name sounds ever so much more upper crust than the boorishly Yankified "Cool Vanilla". Ever yurs, Percival P.D.Snodgrass, III, MBE, RN Ret.

The wheels are the CoolVanilla, but I saw a Ford Edge in the Creme and thought it just a bit 'warmer'...???????? Not much difference in the photo!

Certainly been quiet on here for a bit... my front end bushings (complete set) were just posted from Australia and should be on the car by January (this plus some welding and I can get the car certified safe so I can actually drive it to the various shops). I did add a photo to my website with two 'cream' colours sprayed on each side of the grill... Chrysler Cool Vanilla and Ford Creme Broule...who comes up with these names? I think it will be pretty close to a BMC Ivory, or Old English White when finished.
